It's a rainy day in 2011 and Staffan Weigel has to ride his bike home from work. That was the beginning of Ass Savers. The inventor and founder Staffan took a piece of cardboard and slipped it under his saddle to get home halfway dry. Surprised by the positive effect of the mini mudguard, he developed the concept of the simple splash guard further together with cyclist friends. The Swedes prove that they also have a sense of humor when they call the project Ass Savers. The project turns into a product. Everyone was happy with the first Ass Savers they produced, so Staffan's friends posted a video on the Internet. The rest is mudguard history. The video went through the roof and an online store was created within 24 hours. Six months later, Staffan gave up his previous job and from then on concentrated fully on the new company. Today, five employees ensure dry bottoms worldwide. More than a million Ass Savers have already been sold and the brand, which started out as a joke, is now known to millions of cyclists around the world. The pros also rely on the splash guard - Ass Savers were the first splash guard to be used in the UCI World Tour. Ass Savers are splash guards for bikes. They are light, robust and provide effective protection against moisture and dirt. Manufactured in Sweden, the product is 100% recyclable and is extremely quick and easy to fit and remove. Ass Savers are stable and do not slip because they enclose the saddle rails far forward. The Ass Saver is constantly being improved by its inventors. What looks simple at first glance is the result of serious work and close to obsession. Designing a product that requires no tools, works perfectly during use, fits a variety of different saddle models and is made from a single material is no light task. It requires some molecular-level knowledge of the material and thousands of hours of cutting, folding and prototyping.
