The first Beastmaker fingerboard was created in 2007 in Sheffield, Great Britain. In the end, the decisive factor was the bloody fingers that the passionate velcro climbers Ned and Dan suffered after their long training sessions on the rock. They wanted a training board with a fine, finger-friendly surface structure. So they developed the first Beastmaker, which they worked on for six months, refining the details until they were satisfied with the grip. Word of their training success quickly spread through the scene. Ned traveled to his childhood friend David in Leicester, where he and Elsie set to work on a computer-aided design. A new one was made from old machines to create the Beastmaker training board. The company was born and with it the four main protagonists and founders. After three years of training with their own training board, Dan and Ned improved from 8a climbers to 8b+ climbers and Ned also improved from a top 5 in national competitions to a three-time national champion and finalist in the world championships. So far there are two different series of the training board: The Fingerboard 1000 and the Fingerboard 2000, for which an app has been developed that offers various training programs. Micro grips, hand grips, ball grips and rungs have been added in order to optimally challenge every climber and train specific climbing muscles. Matching logo hoodies and shirts were designed to make sure you look stylish while doing all this.
