All will be waste, but the later the better. That is the motto of CYclodos, the small, likeable, distinctive brand from Basel. Back in the 1980s, Christine Buser was already sewing paddle bags or clothing from discarded backpacks for kayaking enthusiasts. But only when her mother was not at home, as her Bernina sewing machine was no match for some thick fabrics and began to smoke. Over the years, Christine's expertise grew and her hobby turned into something more. Christine bought an industrial sewing machine from a company estate, did an internship at the Bavarian canoe accessories company Langer and continued to refine her skills. Christine Buser, a qualified physiotherapist and canoe instructor, can now look back on over 25 years of sewing experience.
Since 2012, CYclodos has been producing funny accessories such as hooded bags, sunglasses cases, wallets, shoe bags and shopping bags with Transa under the motto "Give your equipment a second life". Almost all of the materials used to make them come from old jackets, tents, backpacks, maps and camping mats that are handed in by Transa customers in the stores. Who has a goggle case made from 3-layer GORE-TEX® XCR Pro-Shell with the Arc'teryx logo, or a shoe bag made from Kerlon 1800, which comes from a Hilleberg Keron 3? Every product is unique! And useful bags are also made from old bicycles tubes, paragliders and packaging material. The inclusion of Cyclodos in 2013 in the book "Green Design Volume 2", which honors the world's most innovative product ideas in the field of sustainability, was an important milestone in the history of the young brand and has made the colorful products even better known.
