Fivefingers is a type of shoe designed by the manufacturer Vibram for outdoor sports. The Italian company made a name for itself with the hard-wearing soles of its barefoot shoes, which are ideal for hiking, running, mountain sports and water sports.

The history of the company from Albizzate (province of Varese) began in 1935, the year in which six mountain sportsmen died on Punta Rasica at an altitude of 3,305 metres due to unsuitable shoes. Company founder Vitale Bramani was a mountain sportsman himself and immediately began researching shoes with rubber soles for alpine terrain. His brand name Vibram was made up of his first name and surname (Vitale Bramani). The company later expanded its range to include barefoot shoes for all kinds of activities.
