For over 80 years, Hestra has been making gloves that guarantee warmth, protection and dexterity. These are gloves for winter sports enthusiasts, mountaineers, cross-country skiers, ski racers, freeriders, kids and everyday wear. The story began in 1936, when Martin Magnusson and his family settled in the high mountains of the Swedish province of Småland. Magnusson began making various gloves for the local lumberjacks in a farmhouse. As skiing became more popular in 1937, Magnusson recognized a new market for his high-quality and durable gloves. His sons, Lars-Olof and Göte, became good skiers and started working in the family business during their teenage years. Over the years, the gloves became known in other parts of the world and this is how the company got its name. So far, two more generations of the Magnusson family have joined the family business Hestra and the company is present in over 25 countries. Although Hestra has three factories and produces gloves for sport, fashion and work, nothing has really changed: The focus is still on hands and gloves. And Hestra is still the home of the brand of the same name.
