The Lazer company was founded in 1919 in Nivelles, Belgium, by Roger Lacroix and was initially dedicated to the manufacture of accessories for motorcyclists. Soon several hundred employees were working at the Belgian headquarters and in 1948 the first thermoplastic helmet from Lazer was finally developed and launched on the market. At that time, helmets were not part of the basic equipment of either professional cyclists or amateurs.
