By extreme athletes for extreme athletes - the Montane brand, founded in 1993, is still one of the pioneers in the field of sportswear today. Its real story began four years earlier, when founders and outdoor adventurers Chris Roff and Jake Doxat met on a three-month expedition to the south of Chile. Their goal: to develop sportswear that could withstand even the hardest environmental conditions. The two founders were inspired by their own experiences as well as input from researchers, mountain rescuers, extreme athletes and adventurers.

Montane's company history has always been characterized by innovation. In 1997 - just four years after it was founded - the brand first caused a stir with the Extreme Smock mountain jacket. It was specially developed for the most adverse weather conditions in the coldest places in the world. Despite its high resistance to cold, wind and water, the functional jacket is ultra-lightweight. It is still considered a classic in outdoor clothing today.

When designing sportswear, Montane combines the input of outdoor professionals with high modern technologies and innovative textile fibers. This results in jackets, trousers and accessories that are light, breathable and hard-wearing. The brand maintains a close exchange with tank tops at endurance trail events, for example, in which Montane regularly participates as the main sponsor.
