About Pacsafe

Anyone who has spent a lifetime traveling knows the thrill. The feeling of stumbling upon enchanting alleyways in busy cities, enjoying local delicacies and hiking among ancient ruins. Rob Schlipper and Magnus McGlashandie, the founders of Pacsafe, have experienced adventures trekking through Asia, hitchhiking through Europe and sailing the high seas. Their inspiration for the original Pacsafe product and travel safety products came while traveling in South America, where they saw chicken wire wrapped around bags to protect them from theft. So they founded the Pacsafe brand in 1998. A short time later, they developed the Exomesh cut-resistant wire cage system and incorporated it into the Pacsafe 85L, which is large enough to hold an 85-liter backpack. The practical suitcases, bags and backpacks from Pacsafe are equipped with various protective functions. Special RFID-blocking material prevents cards from being read without contact. Depending on the model, the bags have invisibly integrated steel cables. This makes it impossible to slit open bags or cut carrying straps. Intelligent carabiners with a safety lock make it impossible to quickly and easily release the bag. The cut-resistant zippers must be operated with both hands and have an extra safety button, while fastening carabiners prevent inconspicuous opening. To this day, Rob Schlipper and Magnus McGlashan are delighted when they see a Pacsafe bag on the back of a traveler waiting in line at customs. Or when someone strolls through the streets with their bag slung over their shoulder, completely relaxed. Then Pacsafe thinks to itself: this relaxed attitude is only possible because the equipment is secured. Because thieves no longer stand a chance.
