The high-quality and innovative products of the Italian shoe manufacturer and family business Scarpa spa., which is now run by the second generation of the Parisotto family, are familiar to every outdoor fan. The name Scarpa originates from the abbreviation S.C.A.R.P.A. - Società Calzaturieri Asolani Riuniti Pedemontana Anonima, an association of committed shoe manufacturers in the Asolo region founded in 1938 by Lord Guinness. The brothers Luigi, Francesco and Antonio Parisotto bought the Scarpa company in 1956 and handed it over to the second generation in the 1980s.
The family business has been producing shoes by hand in Italy for more than 50 years. Good work increases demand, demand increases production and so, over time, the hard-working hands are increasingly supported by modern technology. This does not detract from the quality, as the shoes undergo strict checks before they leave the factory. Scarpa also uses interchangeable, anatomical footbeds that can be replaced by orthopaedic insoles, for example.
Today, Scarpa is one of the world's leading mountaineering boots companies, which has always remained true to certain traditional manufacturing principles while constantly pursuing and integrating technical developments in materials and technology. Today, the company employs around 200 people at its headquarters and around 40 suppliers in external workshops who produce lasts, soles, eyelets and shoelaces, among other things. Scarpa has around 800 employees worldwide.
