Who would have thought on March 2, 1988, when it was entered in the commercial register, that Sponser would later become the Swiss market leader in sports nutrition? Probably none of those involved. If you ask the long-standing company owner about his recipe for success, he mentions the high quality standards, the innovative spirit, the proximity to science and top-class sport and the loyalty of the employees. But the beginning was anything but easy. At the end of the 1980s, knowledge about nutrition in competition and training was still very poor. Only in the bodybuilding scene were proteins already socially acceptable at that time. In 1988, there were no domestic products on the Swiss market that met the needs of all athletes, apart from those from Dr. Wander. Especially not products containing protein. Ernst Jucker - who founded Sponser in 1988 - recognized this as an interested strength athlete. His plan was to develop energy and protein shakes for athletes, which he ultimately succeeded in doing brilliantly. These products impressed with their fine, natural taste and excellent tolerability. The same characteristics still characterize the wide Sponser range today.
Over time, the athletes themselves became more knowledgeable about proper nutrition. As a result, the need for functional sports nutrition adapted to different needs grew. Every sport has different requirements. Sponser recognized this early on and continuously expanded its range. It is now hard to imagine endurance, strength, team and fitness sports without functional and tasty sports nutrition. Sponser set new standards in competition catering. For example, the acid-free "Competition" was introduced as a highly dosed, best-tolerated sports drink. The resealable Liquid Energy Tube is now also known far beyond the country's borders. The principle "after the competition is before the competition" is met with various regeneration products, in particular "Pro Recovery". Highly functional food supplements and complex legal regulations increase the demands on raw material and product quality.
Sponser is ISO FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification 22000) certified and only uses raw materials from suppliers who also have a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized certification. Sponser sees itself as an innovation leader and strives to continue to create supplements with real added value by developing high-quality products. The recipe seems to be working. Sponser has been at the forefront of the sports nutrition market since 1988. Sponser bidons can be seen in biker's bikes as well as in racing bike frames and at various large and small sporting events. From top athletes to ambitious amateur athletes - Sponser is a popular choice, not only in Switzerland but throughout Europe. What makes the products stand out? They are well tolerated, taste good and are absolutely fair in price.
