In 1994, the first liposome-based products from Ultrasun were introduced, representing a revolution in long-lasting sunshade. Just three years later, in 1997, the company was launched in the UK, which remains its largest market to this day. In 1998, Ultrasun was the first company to launch the 'Airless' dispenser in the sun protection category. This packaging innovation makes it possible to dispense with preservatives and empty the packaging completely. John Lewis adds Ultrasun to its range in 2000 and, together with the label, builds a sustainable, constantly growing business.
In 2007, Ultrasun's most exciting product to date is launched: Face SPF30 is combined with strong anti-ageing ingredients, creating a sunshade specifically for the face that is neither greasy nor sticky on the skin. In 2012, Ultrasun is awarded the title of "Best new Sun Care Launch" by Pure Beauty for its new Face SPF50+ product and QVC UK follows up with the "Customer favorite" award.
2012 Pure Beauty awards Ultrasun the title of "Best new sun care launch" for its new Face SPF50+ product. To differentiate the products even better, Ultrasun launches a new packaging design in 2014, which is very well received by customers.
In 2016, the company launched another innovation: a formula specially produced for sensitive skin. In addition to UVA and UVB protection, this new line also offers infrared A protection and at the same time omits many critically discussed substances.
