Family campsites are particularly child-friendly. This makes family camping a great time out for young and old alike. Sales consultant Willi reveals where to find child-friendly campsites.
Tents, sleeping bags and sleeping mats are packed, as well as headlamps and cooking utensils – all ready for the family camping trip. What’s still missing? A child-friendly campsite. These often offer additional attractions for younger guests, such as a playground or even a guided children’s programme. Even if you take things a little more slowly and opt for a pitch in nature, it’s worth finding a spot that’s suitable for children.
If you are out and about at campsites, make sure that they are suitable for family camping. Some campsites indicate this on their website. At pitches and campsites for families, pay attention to the following points, amongst others:
Playground: right on or near the campsite.
Children’s programme: at some campsites there is a guided children’s programme.
Bodies of water: child-friendly pools or shallow bodies of water.
Environment: no steep slopes or busy roads nearby.
Shade: cool, shady places for hot days, for example under trees or awnings.
Before you decide on a campsite or pitch, pay attention to the travel time. Depending on the age of the children, a few hours of driving a day is enough.
