Whether summer or winter - the right outdoor accessories for kids to protect them from the sun, cold, wind or wet should not be missing in any season. Depending on the season, knit caps and hats are among the most important items your kids need when out and about. Kids also need effective protection for their hands - at any time of year. But the sensitive neck area also needs to be well protected from the cold, which you can do well with various scarves and shawls.
Small kids in particular are very sensitive to the effects of strong sunlight and should always wear a sun hat or knit caps with high integrated sunshade during outdoor activities of all kinds. In the cold season, on the other hand, a warm knit cap protects against wind and cold. It is important for these knit caps to be windproof and robust. You can choose between different models:
For summer, you can choose from a variety of fashionable sun hats. Some models are equipped with an extended brim at the neck, so that the neck is also protected from the sun. In addition to wearing a sun hat, you should of course not forget to apply sunscreen to your face and neck. This is all the more important the higher you are travelling in the mountains, where the sun's rays are more intense than at lower altitudes.
On cold days, kids' hands should be well protected. Here you have the choice between different glove models. They are available as simple mittens for babies and toddlers, but also as finger gloves for older kids who want to keep their fingers a little more flexible. Reliable insulation (for example with a cosy fleece lining) is important so that hands stay reliably warm in wet and cold conditions.
An extended cut is also useful, allowing the gloves to reach well over the wrist and, in combination with the jackets, prevent cold air or moisture from penetrating the ends of the sleeves. Another very practical feature is the option of joining two gloves together, which means they can always be stored together as a pair when not in use and are therefore less likely to get lost. Thanks to removable inner gloves, some glove models are versatile and can be adapted to the respective temperatures.
If you are skiing or snowboarding, the gloves must of course be absolutely waterproof and very robust to keep children's hands warm and dry. For cold and dry days, your kids will also love cosy, soft fleece gloves, which are available as mittens or as flexible finger gloves. Transa's range also includes kids' pulse warmers made from stretch fleece with thumb holes.
Scarves for a warm neck region
Despite the high collar, some air can still get inside many jackets on windy days. To prevent this, warm scarves that are simply tied around the neck are helpful and keep this region reliably warm. It is important here that the materials are breathable so that kids don't start sweating too quickly during strenuous outdoor activities.
