Nothing is more unpleasant than being out and about in damp or too thin outdoor clothing. The risk of catching a cold also increases if you are not optimally protected from the wind and rain. In addition to a waterproof jacket, we recommend wearing windproof and waterproof trousers that reliably keep the wind and wet out. Windproof and waterproof trousers are available in many different versions and for every season. While lightweight waterproof trousers are sufficient in summer, they need to be heat-insulating for cold days in autumn or spring.
There are a number of important factors to ensure that windproof and waterproof trousers also impress on active outdoor tours.
You can recognise good windproof and waterproof trousers by the following features:
A material must be able to withstand a water column of 1300 millimetres to be considered waterproof. In practice, however, this is not enough to really keep water out permanently at the knees or buttocks. A water column of at least 3000 millimetres is therefore essential, straight in the areas subject to strong wear. Special coatings or membranes ensure that these values can be achieved.
Here at Transa, you will find various windproof and waterproof trousers, such as waterproof trousers with full-length side zips, robust, welded weather protection trousers made from two layers, weatherproof, breathable shell trousers made from NanoPro or two- and three-layer Gore Tex trousers as versatile weather protection underneath. You can also find GORE-TEX® trousers with a soft fleece inside as well as mountain and weatherproof waterproof trousers with removable braces at Transa.
