To protect your bike from theft, choose your new bicycle locks from our wide range. From combination locks to extremely robust folding locks and u-locks, we have various models in different security classes. This allows you to securely lock your bike anywhere.
Depending on your budget, security requirements and taste, you can find different types of locks in our online shop. You can recognise a good bicycle lock by the fact that it is a very robust construction that cannot be opened with conventional theft tools. In addition, the bike lock should be as flexible as possible around the bike and a fixed object for easy handling. Weight also plays a decisive role in handling. To protect your bike's paintwork from the solid material of the lock, it should have a soft coating. Cylinder locks, which ideally have a keyhole cover, are particularly theft-proof. Alternatively, various manufacturers also offer the practical combination lock, for which you don't need a key.
The cable lock is particularly inexpensive and extremely light. This is a steel cable encased in plastic, which offers little protection in terms of security. However, cable locks are very cheap to buy and can be transported with little effort thanks to their low weight. They are particularly suitable for locking up a bike for short periods of time.
An alternative to this is the u-lock, which can be recognised by its classic U-shape. This variant of a bike lock is significantly more robust and makes it difficult for a bike thief to destroy the solid shackle with conventional tools. However, u-locks have a rigid shape and therefore take up a lot of space during transport. They are also relatively heavy and come with a higher purchase price.
The chain lock, which consists of several flexibly connected chain elements, is particularly easy to use. It is very easy to place around any object and therefore secures a bike against theft when you are out and about. You also have to expect a slightly higher price for a chain lock, but this quickly pays for itself thanks to the high security standard.
A folding lock is also flexible to use and takes up very little space during transport. However, a noticeable dead weight is also to be expected for the high security standard. Folding locks are also among the more expensive bicycle locks.
In addition to a high-quality lock for your bike, it is also important to use it correctly to ensure reliable protection against theft. Only lock your bike to fixed objects such as a sturdy bike stand, the pole of traffic signs or traffic lights, a closed fence system or a railing. The lock on your bike should never be routed through the tyres alone. This can be removed in a few simple steps, which means that the rest of the bike is no longer protected against theft. The bike lock should therefore always be placed through the frame. It also makes sense to regularly check that the bicycle lock is functioning properly and to replace an old, possibly rusty or otherwise damaged lock.
In our shop, you can choose a new bicycle lock from manufacturers such as Abus, Kryptonite or Hiplok to suit your needs and your bike in just a few clicks. We will deliver your order directly to your home within a few days.
