Whether you're a road cyclist or a mountain biker - bike gloves should fit. In summer, both like to wear short-fingered gloves with padded palms and a good grip. Some high-quality models even have small holes in the palm for good ventilation. The surface is usually made of airy mesh material, so that the hand is protected but also has good ventilation in hot weather.

Long-fingered gloves are recommended for the transition period, as they are usually ergonomically designed and therefore adapt perfectly to your hand and fingers. This way, they offer you sufficient dexterity and a very good grip.

When buying gloves, mountain bikers pay particular attention to the robustness of the material, as they are exposed to particular stresses and strains straight during downhill activities. Leather as well as synthetic leather and robust synthetic fibres such as polyester or polyamide are used to make mountain bike gloves. Due to the increased risk of falling, mountain bike gloves are also additionally padded and often have plastic caps on the fingers and knuckles to protect against injuries in the event of falls at high speed.
