Reflective clothing and accessories

If you are travelling on the road at dusk, in the dark or in changing light conditions, your visibility is crucial for your safety. In dark clothing, you are barely recognisable to drivers passing by quickly. Light-coloured, reflective clothing, on the other hand, makes you visible from afar so that drivers can keep the necessary distance.

When to wear reflective clothing?

Whenever you are travelling near or even on roads, you should have some kind of reflective elements on your clothing or luggage at dusk at the latest. It is also a good idea to improve your visibility in rainy weather with dark clouds. Reflective elements are particularly useful when jogging, hiking and cycling, as well as when commuting to work by bike.

Types of reflective clothing and accessories

In the Transa online shop's large range, you will find the following clever items, for example, to make you more visible in poor lighting conditions:

  • Reflective trousers: Some models also protect against rain - particularly useful in combination with reflective tops.
  • Reflective jackets and vests: Special cycling vests, cycling jackets and fluorescent vests ensure visibility with bright colours and reflective strips.
  • Other reflective clothing: You can round off your good visibility with reflective gloves, socks and bike gaiters.
  • Reflective accessories: Improve your visibility flexibly with reflective trouser clips, spokes reflectors, reflective tape, reflective stickers or a reflective cycling helmets.

Use reflective clothing and accessories correctly

You can already think of a few basic rules for the activity of reflective clothing and accessories, for example that the reflectors should not be covered, of course. You should also follow these tips:

  • Notice the orientation of the reflectors: If you only use individual reflectors, make sure that they are aligned towards the road in the opposite direction to the cars' direction of travel. This allows them to optimally reflect the headlights.
  • Do not use too sparingly: More helps more, as you will be visible much further in fully reflective cycling clothing than with just a small reflective wristband.
  • Keep clean and care for properly: Especially in wet weather, reflective cycling trousers and cycling shoes can get quite a bit of mud splashed on them. This impairs the reflective performance. You should also wash washable reflective clothing inside out at a maximum of 40 °C and without bleach.
