As an outdoor fan, you should never start your adventure without sunscreen. All you can do outside is much nicer and more pleasant in the sunshine. But it also has a downside - the sun damages your skin, and more so the higher you are in the mountains or the more vertical the sun shines. You also need more sunshade on the water, as the surface of the water reflects the sun's rays like a mirror.
Pale skin, children's skin or older skin needs extra protection. Our skin could actually protect itself quite well if it weren't for the environmental damage that we ourselves have caused. As a natural sunshade, the skin forms dark colour pigments to protect itself from sunburn. But due to the destruction of the atmosphere, this is no longer enough. We need sunshade in the form of sunscreen, sun oil or sun milk.
Different consistencies also influence the protective effect and care properties.
The classic sunscreen is a mixture of fat and water. It is easy to apply. However, it disappears easily as soon as you start sweating heavily.
Sunscreen milk is thinner than sunscreen and is even easier to apply. It lasts the longest as soon as you start to sweat.
Sun gel is oil-free, making it ideal if you sweat during your outdoor activity. It is light to apply and absorbs quickly. However, a sun gel can cause skin irritation on dry skin.
A sun spray is a light emulsion that is quickly absorbed. It feels lighter than a sunscreen. A sun spray is quick and easy to apply.
In very simple terms, the following formula applies to the sun protection factor: Number of minutes that the skin can be in the sun without any problems and without sunshade, multiplied by the SPF = duration that you can spend in the sun without any worries. The SPF is usually given as UPF in the Transa product descriptions, but it is also referred to as SPF = sun protection factor.
The skin type you have is also very important.
How long your skin can be in the sun without problems depends on many factors. The higher you are in the mountains, the stronger the sunlight. For every 1000 metres of altitude, uv radiation increases by eight to ten percent. Solar radiation also increases enormously on glaciers, in the snow or on the water, as snow and water reflect the sun's rays. Therefore, make sure you always apply a high sun protection factor in the mountains and choose a sunscreen product with UVB and UVA filters.
You also need reliable sunshade when doing sport and other sweaty outdoor activities, because when sweat runs down your forehead, the sunscreen can run lightly into your eyes and sting unpleasantly. Sweat and water can also significantly reduce the sun protection factor. Athletes should therefore always use a waterproof sunshade with the highest possible sun protection factor (30 or 50). You can find the right products for athletes in all Transa shops
There is a special sunscreen for kids that doesn't sting. Adults' faces always need special protection, and sunscreens with a moisturising effect are ideal for this. Those who want to avoid chemical ingredients will find a good selection of sunscreens with mineral protection. As the lips are particularly sensitive, there are also special sunshades for the lips in stick form. You can kill two birds with one stone with sunshade that also protects against insect bites and tick bites.
