Outdoors is simply the best place to be. Your little ones will agree. And if you're a real outdoorsman, you won't be fazed by bad or cold weather. In addition to the right outdoor clothing and good children's shoes, it's also important to have the right socks for kids.
Whether summer or winter, hiking or skiing - you'll find the right children's socks for every activity at Transa. But what should children's socks be able to do? The most important features for good children's socks are:
As in all other outdoor areas, it's the material that counts when it comes to socks for kids and adults. While cotton has proven to be very robust and has been used for a long length of time in the production of sports socks of all kinds, synthetic fiber is clearly ahead in terms of functionality.
Because stability is the main focus of socks for kids, many children's socks are traditionally made from robust cotton. However, if cotton socks get wet, they dry very slowly - which is unfortunately a relevant disadvantage in the outdoor sector.
The synthetic fibre sock is a different story. They usually dry quite quickly and wick away moisture well. A clear advantage over cotton socks. The only minus point. Children's socks made of synthetic material are not odour-neutral. Long length trekking tours with just a pair of synthetic fiber socks are therefore rather suboptimal.
When it comes to odour control, merino wool comes into play. Not only is it naturally breathable, moisture-regulating and warming - merino wool is also anti-odour, making it ideal for use in outdoor socks.
The best socks for kids are made from mixed fabrics, combining the best of each material in one sock. Children's socks made from synthetic fiber and merino wool are particularly efficient. They offer your offspring all they need for the perfect outdoor day, namely robust, dimensionally stable, odour-neutral and fast-drying socks.
At Transa, you will find numerous children's socks for a wide range of uses. Starting with hiking and trekking socks, which are usually cut slightly higher and have extra padding in both the heel and toe areas. For the really cold days in the snow, you will find numerous ski socks with similar features to the trekking sock, but with additional reinforcement in the shin area and of course made from a warming material - ideal for skiing, winter hikes or the first snowshoe tours with your kids. And of course, the Transa range also includes normal everyday socks for kids.
Transa has even thought about the tiny outdoor offspring. So that the little ones don't get wet or cold feet on their first trekking tour while still sitting in their child carrier backpack, we have lined baby shoes made of water-repellent material for you in our shops. And in the evening at the hut, the little ones slip into hand-knitted baby shoes with a warm fleece lining before disappearing into dreamland after a long day outdoors.
