Film evening dedicated to the mountains

The mountains of the Himalayas, the Karakoram and the Hindu Kush have fascinated generations of European mountaineers in search of extraordinary adventures. Compared to the Alps, the gigantic peaks dotting these landscapes seem to go on for miles.

This fascination is shared by Salewa People members Yannick Boissenot and Arnaud Cottet. In the film, they talk about their ski trip through the Hunza Valley in Pakistan, where they witnessed the effects of climate change together with local climbers.

Meet an unusual group of siblings. In the Nef family, parents feel that their youngest child is different. The boy suffers from a very rare genetic mutation called Sotos Syndrome. While this disease doesn’t prevent him from learning, it causes difficulties with physical activities and most schoolwork. His sister and his two older brothers do not give up, forgetting his difference and taking Arsène to the Pyrenees. It’s more than just an extraordinary adventure, it’s an outstanding example of solidarity between siblings. ‘Mon fère Sotos’ won the Audience Choice award at the 2024 Diablerets International Alpine Film Festival.
