Safe and light pin binding with automatically locking stopper in ascent mode and excellent power transmission.
Easy Entry System, Snow Pack Proof, Cam Release System, Magneto Heel Flap and all the other features that make the ATK Freeraider 14 so special are of course also offered by the Freeraider 15 EVO.
So what is the EVOlution, you ask? Quite simply, but technically at the highest level, the following 2 problems have been solved: automatic locking of the stopper in ascent mode and smaller tolerance in the lateral release value.
And this is how it works: when you turn the heel part of the binding type 180° and step off for the first time, the stopper locks automatically. You then still have 2 well-functioning and useful ascent aids. As soon as you turn the heel part 180° again for the descent, the stopper is active again. No more (annoying) fiddling with the stopper. And the freeride spacer for more direct power transmission is integrated as standard.
The option of adjusting the lateral release value at the front also increases safety. Previously, classic pin bindings always clamped at the front (toe section) with the same force and the release value was set at the rear (heel section). With the Freeraider 15 EVO, the release value is set both at the back and at the front. This means that the toe and heel sections play better together and the set release value can be maintained more precisely.
Of course, this also has some small disadvantages: the binding type is 35 grams heavier than the Freeraider 14 and the stand height increases by a few millimeters.
In terms of comfort, power transmission and safety, however, the Freeraider 15 EVO definitely beats the competition.
