The Kuluar 12 Brake from ATK is first and foremost a damn light binding type: it weighs in at 250 grams. But you don't have to sacrifice anything, it offers almost every conceivable feature: integrated ski stoppers, user-friendly climbing aids, a length adjustment of 10 millimetres on the rear jaw. All in the usual ATK quality of milled aluminum, stainless steel and POM, a high-performance plastic. The binding type is ATK's alternative to the Crest: even lighter, simpler, cheaper. The toe piece combines the typical features clothing of the Crest family: outstanding functionality with easy beginners and minimalist design combined in an extremely robust yet super light toe piece that has proven its worth for years. The rear jaw construction, on the other hand, is completely new. In terms of integrated features, it offers unprecedented lightness, three different walking positions (flat, +34 mm, +50 mm) for efficient and energy-saving ascent, an adjustment range of 20 millimetres and an elastic 10-millimetre length adjustment. The length adjustment offers high precision during release as it does not jam the shoes in the binding type. Of course, ATK had to make compromises in terms of features tennisbag and comfort in the construction of the Kuluar 12: at the back of the heel, the binding works with a classic U-pin. On the one hand, this requires powerful beginners and the Z-value of the frontal release can only be changed by changing the U-pin. The Kuluar is therefore available in two versions with two release values (9 and 12). The 12 stands for a Z-value of 12 in the frontal release and an adjustable Z-value of 6-12 for the side release. It is intended for more aggressive, medium to heavyweight skiers. With straight 250 grams per binding type including stopper and variable adjustment value, the Kuluar is in a league of its own!
