Strong freeride boot with a medium-width fit, walking mechanism and excellent downhill qualities.
The Atomic Hawx Prime XTD 130 CT GW combines the downhill performance and all-mountain handling of the Hawx line with almost the same natural freedom of movement of the Backland touring boots. The result is a true all-rounder with touring characteristics and a focus on the descent. The model is slightly wider than the Hawx Ultra XTD and is designed for skiers with medium-width feet who are looking for a boot that is just as good - with the best downhill performance and good ascent characteristics. The low weight of less than 1700 grams (for size 26) can be achieved thanks to the very thinly injection-moulded Grilamid shell and the light but super comfortable inner shoe. In our opinion, the Mimic Platinum Liner is one of the best on the market when it comes to inner shoes. The inner shoe is pre-shaped so that it fits well and is comfortable the first time you try it on. Unlike shoes from other manufacturers, however, it can still be thermoformed in the pre-shaped areas (ankle, heel, instep) for a perfect individual fit. If this is not enough for a bombproof but comfortable fit, the Memory Fit shell can also be heated and precisely adapted to your foot. The shoe is built on a 100 millimeter last and has a flex index of 130. Despite the overlap shaft, the shoe offers a shaft rotation of 54 degrees. This is sufficient and, above all, it can be moved almost without resistance on the ascent. Thanks to the Free/Lock 4.0 mechanism, the boot can be quickly switched from walking to downhill mode. When closed, the Hawx Prime XTD is then quite hard and direct, but offers the necessary flex despite the relatively stubborn Grilamid. The shaft can be adjusted to 13, 15 and 17 degrees of inclination, making it the perfect boot for freetourers who also want to use their ski boots in the ski area from time to time or are simply looking for a comfortable, stable and descent-oriented touring boot.
