The Hawx Ultra XTD is aimed at freeriders and freetourers who not only want to ski down fast, but also want to be light and fast on the ascent.
The Hawx Ultra XTD is probably the lightest hybrid boot. This means it looks and functions like a ski boot, but only weighs around 1.6 kg. The low weight can be achieved thanks to the very thin injection-molded Grilamid hiking walls and the light inner shoe. As the name suggests, the Hawx Ultra XTD is based on the alpine classic Hawx Ultra. Accordingly, the XTD is also built on a sporty 98mm Leist. But that doesn't mean that only super narrow feet will fit in this boot! Its fit is so good that you hardly feel cramped. However, if you need a little more width: The shell can be widened relatively easily just with the help of an oven thanks to Memory Fit, or you can try the Prime XTD (same shoe, slightly more volume). Despite the overlap shaft, the shaft rotation is sufficient and, above all, almost resistance-free. When closed, however, the Hawx Ultra XTD is quite hard and direct and offers good flex despite the relatively stubborn Grilamid. The shaft can be adjusted to 15 and 17 degrees of inclination. Grip Walk soles provide walking comfort and ensure binding compatibility. In addition, the Hawx naturally fits into every pin inserts binding type. The Mimic liner is rather thin, but made of a stable, thermoformable foam. It is more ergonomically pre-shaped around the ankles. The buckles can be fixed in the open position, which is particularly useful when walking. The Hawx Ultra is for all those for whom the descent is sacred, but who are finally looking for more comfort on the ascent.
