The crash pad with the melodious name Drop Zone from Black Diamond is already a classic. An optimal weight-to-size ratio makes this mat popular with many bouldering enthusiasts. As it has no crease in the middle, it offers a continuous landing surface. For transportation, it can be folded up and tied down with the flap made of elastic mesh material and the metal buckles. You can stow shoes, chalk bags etc. in the pad without anything falling out. The revised carrying system provides additional comfort on long trips to the bouldering area. The corners ensure optimum ground coverage when folding with other pads for a larger drop zone. Two side handles help to move the pad around quickly. It is nine centimetres thick and made from a combination of open- and closed-cell foam for good damping.
