Large-cut, breathable bivy sack for nights in the open air.
The Exped Bivybag VentAir/PU is made from the extremely breathable and waterproof 3-layer VentAir laminate. This bivy sack is for the night what the hardshell / rain jackets are for the day: a protective layer for sleeping in wet and cold conditions. In purely mathematical terms, you can add seven degrees to the temperature limit of your sleeping bag. The bottom fabric of the bivy bag is made from waterproof polyurethane-coated recycled nylon and is not breathable. You can take your sleeping mat inside thanks to the spacious cut. In summer, some of your luggage will also fit inside. A lesser-known, very practical feature of the waterproof, breathable bivy sack is its ability to dry wet clothes, sleeping bags or shoes using body heat alone! In winter, a thick winter sleeping bag also fits in the bivy bag - there is simply no more storage space. The hood is reinforced with aluminum wire and has a wide overlap to prevent water from running into the bivy bag even when you're lying down. To protect against midges and other pests, the opening of the hood can be fitted with a mosquito net that can be rolled up when not in use. This means you can leave the camping tents at home, which significantly minimizes the weight of the equipment - in short, the ideal accommodation for the lightweight trekker!
