And with its size of just 9.9 x 5.2 centimeters and a weight of just 100 grams, it fits comfortably in your pocket or backpack. The pocket-sized satellite communication device is therefore ideal for adventures where size and weight are important. With the inReach Mini, you can send and receive SMS messages. GPS location tracking also allows you to share your position with your family at home or others in the field. Practical: with the TracBack® function, your device takes you back the way you came. You can also post your adventures on social media. The digital compass provides accurate information - even when stationary. So you never lose your bearings. And if necessary, you can use it to trigger an SOS emergency call to the GEOS emergency call center, which is manned around the clock, from anywhere in the world. The Iridium® satellite network with global coverage is used for this. This requires a subscription. Garmin offers annual contracts or free contracts. The free Earthmate app opens up additional possibilities. It synchronizes the inReach handset with your compatible Apple or Android device via Bluetooth, giving you access to a wealth of maps and aerial imagery. Earthmate also allows you to use all inReach functions on your mobile device. You can also access the contact list on your phone via the Earthmate app, making it even easier and faster to send messages around the world. The inReach Mini is also an important means of communication in aviation. Pair it via Bluetooth with a compatible tablet or smartphone with the Garmin Pilot app and you can easily send or receive text messages from the cockpit - even in regions without a cell phone signal. The app uses your device's contact list, making access simple and seamless. As a handheld GPS device, Garmin Pilot can also access the inReach Mini as a reliable position source, allowing your aircraft's position to be geo-referenced as an icon on your tablet's moving map display. For those tracking your position from the ground, the inReach Mini also allows you to track your flight position via the web-based MapShare page created for your inReach account. You can also connect via Facebook or Twitter. This little tech jack-of-all-trades really packs a punch and what's more, family and friends can always stay in touch with you, no matter where you happen to be straight away.
