Excellently balanced, long-handled felling axe for felling and chopping.
The Gränsfors American felling axe has the tried and tested axe head and handle length of the lumberjacks and log cabin workers of old. The wide blade has a narrow grind and a small wedge angle. The 12 cm long cutting edge is carefully tempered and sharpened and with a head weight of 1500 g, the axe penetrates the wood deep and rich in one stroke. The double-curved cowhide handle made of high-quality hickory wood ensures fatigue-free work. The fairly smooth style allows the axe to glide easily through the hand when working. The longer shaft compared to splitting axes gives you great reach flexibility and ensures a good swing. An axe is only as good as its smith - all axes made by Gränsfors Bruk are forged by hand using steel from Ovako, which is obtained exclusively from recycled scrap metal. The steel used has been specially developed to produce the perfect axe head. The steel is not too hard, not too soft and not too flexible.
