The Gränsfors size carving axe was developed together with two master craftsmen. The purpose of this axe is to carve and shape wood, which is made easy by the curved handle. The axe has a long double-sided cutting edge. The shape of the blade guard is designed to cover the cutting edge and the upper part of the neck. When you carry the axe on your backpack, it prevents the axe head from cutting into the backpack. An axe is only as good as its smith - all axes made by Gränsfors Bruk are forged by hand. Ovako steel is used, which is obtained exclusively from recycled scrap metal. The steel used has been specially developed to produce the perfect axe head. The steel is not too hard, not too soft and not too flexible.
