As the name suggests, the Gränsfors hunter's hatchet is not only suitable for cutting wood, but is also perfect for use by hunters, as it cuts meat with absolute precision. The rounded neck without sharp edges is also suitable for skinning. A normal axe with a straight neck and sharper edges can damage the skin too lightly. Are your hands wet or sticky? No problem either, as the round notches on the handle ensure a good grip. The shape of the blade guard is designed to cover the cutting edge and the upper part of the neck. When you carry the axe on your backpack, it prevents the axe head from cutting into the backpack. An axe is only as good as its smith - all axes made by Gränsfors Bruk are forged by hand. Ovako steel is used, which is obtained exclusively from recycled scrap metal. The steel used has been specially developed to produce the perfect axe head. The steel is not too hard, not too soft and not too flexible.
