The Opinel mushroom knife is a specialist. The curved cutting edge helps to cut mushrooms close to the ground. The serrated back makes it easy to skin mushrooms. The knife also has a small brush at the end of the handle to ensure that mushrooms and not soil residues end up in the basket, so that the first cleaning is quick and easy. The blade is secured with the Opinel Virobloc system. The sharp, stainless steel blade does not fold accidentally and cannot spring open on its own in the bag and injure you. To lock the blade, all you have to do is turn the safety ring.
