Tencel is obtained from eucalyptus wood and is characterized by a high basic fibre moisture content, a high evaporative cooling capacity and its smooth fibre surface. The material mix is robust and efficient thanks to an elaborate spinning process: Beta-spun technology refers to a manufacturing process in which fine polyamide filaments are spun around the merino wool and Tencel. The protective polyamide coat makes the fabric extremely abrasion-resistant and robust - without losing the benefits of merino fibers and the cooling Tencel fibers.
