Ortovox Ascent 28 S Avabag

The 28 S Avabag from Ortovox is a 28-liter backpack with a short back and a really lightweight and expandable avalanche airbag system, which Ortovox calls Avabag for short. The Avabag is based on a mechanical system: a pull of the trigger punctures a cartridge filled with nitrogen, whereupon the airbag inflates within three seconds by applying pressure from the cartridge and drawing in ambient air. The system is maintenance-free, cannot ice up or corrode, and the handles can be practiced as often as desired in advance, with the cartridge removed. For even more safety, the airbag cover is seamlessly welded, correspondingly tear-resistant and compactly foldable. The backpack offers with airbag in bright colors interior of 28 liters volume and can also be used without Avabag (and correspondingly larger volume). The back is wear-friendly foamed, the hip belts are wide, the zippers water-repellent, the front zipper circumferential. In addition, there is a helmet net, a separate safety compartment, holders for snowboards, snowshoes, ice axes and other equipment.
