The traditional way of igniting tinder in a hollow cylinder by air pressure compression was already known to primitive peoples. This technique is revived with the fire piston and is as simple as it is effective: the piston head is loaded with tinder and then pressed into the piston sleeve with a sudden blow. The resulting air pressure and the resulting heat of up to 400 degrees ignite the tinder and thus a prepared ember nest or a prepared fire pit - without any electricity, lighter or other aids. The weather- and energy-independent fire piston is shorter than the length of a hand. It fits easily into any luggage and provides the necessary spark for your outdoor fires.
