The Petzl William is a large, pear-shaped and asymmetrical aluminum carabiner for connecting multiple elements and attaching multiple pieces of equipment. The ergonomic design makes it easier to handle with gloves. The carabiners' large snap opening with keylock system also makes it easy to use. Its shape is also optimized for belaying with the half-mast throw.
