Robust freeride binding type suitable for almost all ski boot types.
The STH2 16 MN from Salomon is a super stable freeride and freestyle binding type consisting of a metal binding head with patented 3D release, which ensures reliable release, and a metal automatic heel piece.
Another special feature is that the binding head is adjustable in height. This is an advantage if you have an alpine boot or a modern, rounded ski boots with a WTR, gripwalk or touring sole (ISO 9523). This makes it possible to use a pure alpine binding with rounded shoes. And thanks to the adjustment in the height of the binding head, the stand height always remains the same.
The STH2 bindings are also characterized by their high elasticity and the long distance the shoes can travel without the binding releasing. This efficiently prevents the hated false releases and ensures good damping.
The binding type now also has an AFD Sliding Pad. This is a plate that moves when the binding is released sideways, so that the release value is guaranteed with all sole types.
A "lever" with which you can control whether you prefer good damping or direct power transmission has also been integrated.
Another advantage is the open design of the binding type. This allows the snow to escape easily when beginners get on and eliminates the annoying "cleaning" of the binding type in deep snow. And thanks to the good transmission ratio of the heel lever, you hardly need any force to get started, making it easy even in lots of powder.
