Light 4-buckle touring boot with convincing downhill properties.
The 4-Quattro XT from Scarpa is the lightest ski boot with a gripwalk sole and walking mechanism on the market.
Its strong points are clearly on the descent. The 4 buckles provide a very good fit, so your power can be converted directly into steering impulses. The shell is made of Grilamid Bio and the boot is very light at 1500 grams in size 26.
With a flex index of 130, it is one of the hardest touring shoes. But what sets it apart is its pleasantly progressive flex. As a result, impacts and vibrations are dampened and do not affect your bones directly.
With its shaft rotation of 61 degrees, it can also be moved with large steps on the ascent or on traverses. The resistance on the ascent is very low, making the uphill effortless.
The GripWalk soles allow activity in many alpine bindings and ensure good power transmission. However, a little caution is required when walking in tricky terrain, as the soles are not as grippy as a touring sole.
The fit of the 4-Quattro XT is based on a medium last of 100 millimetres. This means that the touring boot can sit comfortably on different feet.
With the 4-Quattro XT, Scarpa has built a very exciting shoe with a good fit and power transmission, which also excels on the ascent. All this makes it a very popular shoe, and rightly so.
