Probably the most versatile touring shoe ever. A shoe that offers a lot of performance and especially a lot of comfort at a low weight!
The F1 is a shoe of the future, it is a shoe between two worlds that writes its own laws. The F1 offers more comfort, more support and performance than a training or racing shoe. However, at just 1260 grams, it is significantly lighter than a classic touring shoe, such as the Maestrale at 1440 grams. It therefore breaks new ground between race and touring, where it appeals to the sporty or weight-oriented touring skier who wants to make little or no concessions in downhill performance and, above all, comfort. The carbon reinforced Grilamid shell, the X-Gage mold reinforced Grilamid shaft and the stable Walkmodus lever get all the stability out of the 1.25kg possible, but offer a comfortable flex and little torsion. The Boa system lets the shoe fit perfectly over the instep and by means of the wide buckle on the shaft it can be closed tightly together with the removable strap. Also a rare feature in lightweight shoes is the extra large last width over 102mm. This along with the relatively voluminous liner, which allows for good thermal adjustment, makes the F1 fit a great many feet. The 62 degree shaft rotation may not be that impressive as a number, but the fact that the shaft runs almost frictionless in the process is really nice. That doesn't mean you have to take huge steps with the shoe. A large shaft rotation also has the advantage that you can run quite steeply even with a relatively flat climbing aid on the binding. That means less fiddling and more fluid running. The tilt angle can be adjusted between 20 and 22 degrees. The inserts of the F1 are from Dynafit and work perfectly. However, the shell does not conform to any binding standard, which means that the F1 does not fit in either frame or hybrid bindings. However, the small projection at the toes is perfect for attaching crampons. So if you're a classic touring skier, or even if you do long tours and weight is just as important to you as a powerful descent, you'd definitely have to consider the F1.
