Versatile women's touring boot that offers a lot of performance and above all a lot of comfort at a low weight.
The F1 WMN from Scarpa offers more comfort, more support and performance than a training or racing shoe. However, at just 1260 grams, it is significantly lighter than a classic touring shoe, such as the Gea at around 1400 grams.
The carbon-reinforced Grilamid shell, the Grilamid shaft reinforced with the X-Gage shape and the stable walk mode lever get all the stability out of the 1.25 kilograms that is possible, but offer a comfortable flex and little torsion.
The Boa system allows the boot to be adjusted perfectly over the instep and the wide buckle on the shaft, together with the removable strap, ensures a snug fit.
The 62 degree shaft rotation may not be an impressive figure, but the fact that the shaft runs almost friction-free is really pleasant. This doesn't mean that you have to take huge steps with the shoe. The main advantage of a large shaft rotation is that you can walk quite steeply even with a relatively flat climbing aid on the binding type. This means less handling and smoother running.
The shell does not conform to any binding standard, which means that the F1 WMN does not fit into either frame or hybrid bindings. However, the small extension at the toes is perfect for attaching crampons.
So if you are a classic tourer or if you do long tours and weight is just as important to you as a powerful descent, then you should definitely consider the F1 WMN.
