The power version of the Maestrale. The bi-injection shell made of carbon and Grilamid makes it extra hard and an absolute freeride machine.
The Maestrale RS is an extra hard version of the Maestrale. In contrast to the Maestrale, the RS is made from Grilamid and additionally from a Carbon Grilamid in the lower shell area, which is completely black. Scarpa calls this a bi-injection shell, as they combine the two different Grilamids in a rather complex injection molding process. If you take out the inner shoe and look at the shell from the inside, you can clearly see this. This bi-injection shell, or rather the carbon part of it, ensures that the shoe bends less when flexing, making it even harder. The tongue is made of Pebax for better mobility. As usual, the Maestrale RS comes with a liner made of Intuition foam, which can be easily adjusted to the individual foot in an oven. With a last width of 101mm, even a slightly wider foot will feel at home. Thanks to the instep buckle, the heel always remains securely fixed, both when riding and walking. The buckle for the forefoot is perfectly positioned on the shoe so that it doesn't get in the way when walking. The massive power strap allows the shoe to be closed tightly for the descent. Like the Maestrale, the RS offers a shaft rotation of 60 degrees and a forward lean angle of between 14 and 18 degrees. The inserts are Dynafit certified and the shell fits all frame bindings (ISO 9523). The Vibram rubber soles and the good profile give the shoe almost hiking boot qualities and give you a secure step. In addition, the shoe is equipped with a recco reflector, which can help you find your way in an avalanche. At 1.45kg (size 27), the Maestrale RS is of course not one of the lightest, but of course it offers a lot of downhill performance, which more than justifies the weight.
