The Aerothan Tube 28"/700C Endurance Race from Schwalbe is the high-end alternative to conventional road bike tubes. The Aerothan is a next-generation tube that sets completely new standards in terms of weight, puncture resistance, riding characteristics, ease of fitting and packing size. Compared to butyl inner tubes, a weight saving of 100 grams or more can be achieved for the entire bike. It is made from robust and fully recyclable Aerothan. The material was developed in collaboration with BASF. It is a thermoplastic polyurethane (short: TPU) that meets the extreme requirements. Another special feature is the processing with a high-precision laser, which welds the valve and hose together. The patented process allows extremely flat seams, which not only ensure precise riding behavior, but also play an important role in puncture resistance. After all, the seams are exposed to extreme mechanical stress. As a result, the inner tube impresses with its amazingly low rolling resistance and dynamic, smooth riding dynamics. In addition, the high puncture protection prevents sudden air loss. And it remains absolutely heat-resistant even after several emergency stops in short succession with rim brakes.
