The Aerothan Tube 29" MTB+ from Schwalbe is the high-end alternative to conventional bicycle tubes. The Aerothan is a next-generation tube that sets completely new standards in terms of weight, puncture resistance, riding characteristics, ease of fitting and packing size. It is approx. 40 percent lighter than a comparable Schwalbe Extralight tube made of butyl. It is made from robust and fully recyclable Aerothan. The material was developed in collaboration with BASF. It is a thermoplastic polyurethane (short: TPU) that meets the extreme requirements. Another special feature is the processing with a high-precision laser, which welds the valve and hose together. The patented process allows extremely flat seams, which not only ensure precise riding behavior, but also play an important role in puncture resistance. After all, the seams are exposed to extreme mechanical stress. As a result, the inner tube impresses with its amazingly low rolling resistance at tubeless level. It remains extremely dimensionally stable even at low air pressures. In addition, the high puncture protection prevents sudden air loss. Ideal for cross-country and marathon activities, even on demanding trails.
