Ingenious sleeping mat accessories, the pump bag for Sea to Summit sleeping mats.
The Air Stream Dry Sack from Sea to Summit is a waterproof packsack with a valve and foot loop. The sack works quite simply. You suck the air into the open sack and when the sack is rolled up, this air escapes through the outlet valve into the connected sleeping mat. Each pumping movement delivers more air than most lungs can muster and the air drawn in does not contain any moisture, as is the case with breathing air. The mat can be inflated quickly and without feeling dizzy. When closed, the flat valve is completely covered and with the Air Stream Dry Sack you have a waterproof pack sack for your equipment. The pump and packsack is made from a very thin nylon fabric that is nevertheless much more robust than a simple plastic sack. The Air Stream Dry Sack is coated with silicone on the outside and polyurethane on the inside. The smooth outside makes the packsack very easy to stuff into a backpack - it practically glides. All seams are double-stitched and glued. The roll-top closure is reinforced with Hypalon and has an ultra-light click buckle. You have to wind the closure at least three times to close the packsack tightly. The base of the packsack is oval, which means it cannot simply roll away when packed. Although the material is much more stable than that of a normal plastic bag, it can still get a hole. Be careful with pointed, sharp objects. Valuable objects or electronic devices should not be packed in this way or, if they are, at least twice, combined with an additional, even more stable packsack.
