Super work from Tecnica! Incredible fit, easy handling, optimal compromise between ascent comfort and downhill performance.
The Zero G Tour Pro is a really successful model from Tecnica. Similar to the Atomic Hawx, the Zero G Tour Pro is constructed like an alpine boot. An overlap in the shell and shaft should provide a high degree of downhill performance. The disadvantage that this construction usually brings is the limited shaft rotation. However, Tecnica has managed to make it rotate 55 degrees thanks to a very low cut shell (lower boot) and large cutouts in the shaft. The unique "double blocking mobility cuff", which simultaneously blocks the shaft at two points in the vertical, contributes to this large shaft rotation in addition to additional stability. The resulting flex Tecnica specifies as 130, so hard. And finally, the weight: 1320 grams (26.5). These three numbers in combination are already quite unique. And to stay with the numbers for a moment: The last width is 99 mm. And the template is 12 degrees and can be increased to 13. Our practical test puts some of these values into perspective. Starting with the last width (which should always be taken with a grain of salt anyway). The Zero G Tour Pro is so ergonomically shaped that the shoe does not feel tight at all. Combine that with the fact that the shell expands very well over the partially perforated areas. The 130 flex sounds like buck and stiff. However, the shoe is anything but. It has a very nice progressive flex (soft at first, then progressively harder) that may not be quite at 130, but is certainly stiff enough for the vast majority of riders. The low weight Tecnica brings about the consistent optimization in the materials. The thinly injected Grilamid, the relatively thin liner, the magnesium buckles with the wire loops. The Zero G Tour Pro is aimed at a wide range of riders due to its light weight and super performance. If the shoe fits you, you do with it pretty sure nothing wrong.
